Deep, down, and dark- buried in the sea,
Sin is but a choice, an act of selfish misery.
Once a vibrant life- now splintered and broken,
Dark shadows obscure the truth that’s been spoken.
Cold and alone, we dwell in a cave of pain,
Nothingness, terror, and vanquished flame.
Rising up, we exit the pit,
We don’t understand why we cannot quit.
Pain and grief, the absence of grace,
Nothing compares to the turning of His face.
Perfect holiness we cannot touch,
Bare human feet are not enough.
The Master kneels to wash our feet,
A deed of humility where grace and reverence meet.
He wipes us clean of our dirtiest parts,
What once was hidden, now rises from the dark.
The secrets we held, afraid of being known,
Have become the reason that we are alone.
What once brought shame now gives us hope,
And slows our descent down the slippery slope.
Each movement becomes an act of praise,
Serving others is what shapes our days.
We wash their feet, turn the other cheek,
Not a list of laws, but of grace we speak.
Paralyzed with fear, we cannot remove the mask,
Yet we know that perfection’s an impossible task.
God provides- He sees, He knows,
He changes us as His purpose grows.
Refined by fire, our lives transformed,
No longer shaped by what the world once formed.
Not by works, so that no one may boast,
But by how we respond to the Holy Ghost.
Rely on Him and tell of His grace,
If He lives in us, we must finish the race.
One story becomes many, a chorus of voices,
We see and believe, we surrender our choices.
We turn, we speak, we do our best,
What we tried to hide is now laid to rest.
We carry our struggles, day in and day out,
Our burdens turn peace into fear and doubt.
The light breaks through like dawn’s first breath,
Hope rises up and conquers death.
The anguish fades, we are on the mend,
Each step brings us closer to redemption’s end.
The fire is gone but darkness stays,
Night overcomes that which remains.
Where is the morning? Where is the light?
Miraculous signs appear beyond our sight.
We open our hands to the Father’s seal,
We know our fate, yet turn from His will.
The envelope is marked, the verdict is in.
Are we guilty? Are we condemned?
No change can come from what’s inside.
“Forgive and forget,” the past is not denied.
We do not escape by wish or plea,
Forgiveness alone will set us free.
Our sins are covered like a blanket of snow,
A new life in us begins to grow.
The roots once buried under frozen ground,
Sprout fresh with hope where death was once found.
God’s perfect law we can never attain,
We fix our eyes on the truth instead of pain.
We have nothing left but child-like awe-
An admiration for the One who made it all.
If only all the world could see,
The sacrifice He made on Calvary’s tree.
Christ is risen- the truth now revealed,
In His presence, our fears become stilled.
Will they remain blind or open their eyes?
We must not give into the devil’s lies.
The pleasure of this world is tempting and cruel,
Those who choose it will be made a fool.
Nothing is enough, there’s no work we can do.
We come with empty hands, made humble and new.
Receiving grace from the Father above,
Holiness rises within us as love.
Hope takes flight, spreading around like a mist,
Yet we lose our way in the black abyss.
A path is marked out, a lamp for our feet,
Relief comes where the dark and light meet.
We find our way by grasping His hand,
Blind and unsure in this daunting land.
We fear the unknown, but believe what is true,
One step at a time, His word brings us through.
